Learn More About Me

I was born and raised in San Francisco, CA. At seven, I began playing piano, and by nine, I had transitioned to drums. Under the guidance of Bay Area icon Shaun McGonegal, I honed my skills across various genres, including rock, pop, funk, jazz, hip-hop, and Latin. My formative years were also influenced by esteemed teachers and mentors like Brenda Yodice, Scott Foster, and David Boyce. Before graduating high school I gained professional experience starting with performances for The Speakeasy SF and Shrek: The Musical at sixteen, leaving me well-prepared to enter the professional music world.

During my college years, I immersed myself in the Philadelphia DIY rock scene, performing with bands such as Ready Now and The Flat Stanleys, as well as subbing for other local groups. I also maintained a strong presence in jazz, serving as the primary drummer for Drexel’s Jazz Orchestra under the direction of Dr. George Starks and Brent White.

Graduating amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, I pivoted from live performance to focus on writing and production. In 2020 and 2021, I co-wrote and produced the album Fevers & Fables with the project Howsa Rest, and contributed to the original soundtrack for the indie video game Fallen Angel.

Returning to San Francisco post-graduation, I formed CLAVS SPRECKELS and performed extensively around the city. Simultaneously, I collaborated with former bandmate Nate Baldridge on the project sucko, culminating in the EP Face Down in the Street, released on December 16, 2023. We are now working on our debut full-length LP, scheduled for early 2025.

Currently, I am writing and producing a personal album under the pseudonym “Dusty Jake,” with plans to release it by mid-2025.

As of January 2024, I live and work in Brooklyn, NY.
