Experience & Media
The Flat Stanleys
The Flat Stanleys is an indie rock band primarily active from 2017 to 2019. We played shows around the Baltimore/Philadelphia area and went on a Midwest tour in the summer of 2017. As of September 2024, our releases accumulated over 80,000 monthly listeners and nearly 5,000,000 plays on our track 'Me vs Your Friends' on Spotify alone. We were featured in various publications, including two print issues of Substream Magazine, and were interviewed live on the Out of Town Podcast.
sucko
This is my most recent musical endeavor. In collaboration with my longtime friend and partner Nate Baldridge, we spent 2023 at Wasatch Studio in Los Angeles crafting and fine-tuning these five tracks. I’m very proud of our work, which provides a strong foundation for future releases from this project.
Ready Now
Ready Now was a live-focused project I was part of from 2018 to 2019. During this time, we performed over 100 shows at local Philadelphia venues and toured the East Coast, South, Midwest, and West Coast. The tracks featured below were collaboratively written and recorded by the group.
Howsa Rest
Howsa Rest's Fevers & Fables was the album I created for my senior project at Drexel University. Alongside my collaborator, Brian Radin, we fully wrote, recorded, produced, distributed, and marketed the album. Completed in 2021, it captures the emotional turmoil of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since we recorded from home due to the circumstances, the album lacks live drums, instead emphasizing my creative songwriting capabilities.
Fallen Angel OST
Fallen Angel is an independent game developed by Matrioska Games. During 2020 and 2021, I collaborated with Nate Baldridge on the creation and production of its original soundtrack, contributing percussion, guitars, and additional creative insights.
RENT at Rockaway Theatre Company
The Rockaway Theatre Company is a regional community theatre based in Rockaway, Queens. The following video features me performing “What You Own” on the second to last night of the three-week run.
Red Stocking Revue 2024
The Red Stocking Revue is an annual variety show in Port Washington, NY, benefiting CancerCare. The music featured local business-sponsored, island-inspired pop from the past 60 years, encompassing genres like rock, reggae, calypso, samba, and jazz. I followed a detailed score while adapting to the daily nuances of live performance. Below is a video of me performing 'Margaritaville' by Jimmy Buffett on the second night of the event.
The Speakeasy SF
The Speakeasy SF is an ongoing immersive theater experience set in 1920s San Francisco. During its initial run, I performed multiple shows per week as the drummer in the cabaret, playing over two hours of 1920s swing music. Each night, I performed for audiences of 100+, showcasing my skills in sight-reading, improvisation, and real-time adaptation to singers and fellow performers.
Shrek: The Musical
During the Berkeley Playhouse summer season, I was the drummer for their production of Shrek: The Musical, followed by the youth cast’s version of the same show. I performed 6 shows per week, adhering to an intricate score while adapting to the daily variations of live performance.
CLAVS SPRECKELS
CLAVS SPRECKELS is an indie-rock band based in San Francisco that was primarily active from 2022 to 2023. This group worked constantly to put together high-energy live shows of fun and exciting original music. I acted as one of the primary songwriters and bandleader. Highlighted here is a performance of our song “Close Your Eyes” from our in-progress rock opera entitled The Factory, performed live at Hotel Utah Saloon in San Francisco.
Ready Now
Highlighted here is a live performance of our song “Singing Sweetly”, performed in 2018 in Chicago.
Luca McDermott Trio
The Luca McDermott Trio was a jazz group I formed with childhood friends. We performed jazz standards throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, playing at private events and in public venues, including restaurants. Here is a video of our full live set at Reverie Cafe.
Urban Brass Band
This group performed classic brass band standards like 'When the Saints Go Marching In,' jazz favorites such as 'St. James Infirmary,' and an adaptation of Marvin Gaye’s 'Sexual Healing' (inspired by the Hot 8 Brass Band). Below is our live performance at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco.
